Banjarmasin State Polytechnic has successfully held its first international conference. The 1st International Conference on Informatics, Computer and Information System (ICICI) 2023 with the theme “The Future of Business and Advertising in the AI Era” took place at the Head Office Building, Multimedia Room, Floor 2, Banjarmasin State Polytechnic on 31 May 2023, Wednesday ( 01/06/2023).
The discussion was attended by the Director of the Banjarmasin State Polytechnic, Joni Riadi, the entire Poliban academic community, plenary speakers namely; Director of Research Center for AI and Service Science, Advanced Institute of Industrial Technology, Japan, Prof. Takuro Matsuo, Head of Computer Science Course, Department of Informatics, Faculty of Engineering Kyoto University, Japan, Prof. Takayuki Ito and Head of Department of Doctor of Computer Science Chairman of IEEE Computer Society Indonesia Chapter, Bina Nusantara University, Dr. Ford Lumban Gaol, as well as all seminar participants from both Kalimantan and outside Kalimantan.
To kick off the opening of the discussion and welcome invited guests, a traditional South Kalimantan dance was performed by the students of Banjarmasin State Polytechnic. It was then followed by a prayer and an opening speech by Poliban Director.
“I express my gratitude to all the speakers who have been invited to fill in this seminar. The First ICICI 2023, serves as a means of facilitating the academic community, especially lecturers in publishing their research results, building an academic atmosphere that supports the creation of a research culture, and establishing communication and networking to lecturers to exchange information about science and technology and research results, especially in the field of information and communication technology,” said the Director of Poliban in his speech.
He hopes that participants who have attended the ICICI 2023, can get a lot of information and insights.
“I wish you a very productive conference with interesting and uplifting discussions and exchange of knowledge so that together we can anticipate future breakthroughs in knowledge, research and technology,” he hoped.
Apart from international article publications and discussion, ICICI 2023 is also an event to strengthen collaboration, this is shown by the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding for international co-operation between Banjarmasin State Polytechnic and International Institute of Applied Informatics, Japan and AIIT Research Center for AI and Service Science Advanced Institute Of Industrial Technology, Tokyo, Japan.
Prof. Takayuki Ito, Ph.D from Kyoto University, Japan opened the plenary session with a presentation on the concept of Auction Theory and Mechanism Design which includes Introduction to Auction Theory, Basic Auction, Vickery Auction and Strategy Proofness, Combinatorial Auction, GSP Auction, VCG Mechanism.
This was followed by an inspiring topic from the second speaker, a presentation from the Doctor of Computer Science Chairman of the IEEE Computer Society Indonesia Chapter, Bina Nusantara University, Dr. Ford Lumban Gaol.
In the material he presented, Dr. Ford Lumban Gaol conveyed what Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning were and what were the uses of AI and ML applications. He also mentioned that in Era 4.0 human creativity was one of the biggest challenges. “Creative Art Challenging? in Era 4.0” he said.
On the same occasion, closing the plenary presentation at the end of the conference, Prof. Tokuro Matsuo, Ph.D from the Advanced Institute of Industrial Technology, Tokyo, Japan, delivered a topic on “Toward the Development of Integrated Support Systemâ€. In his presentation Prof. Tokuro Matsuo talked about the Internet of Thing (IOT), Services and Industry 4.0 and an explanation of the various types of sensors.
Another interesting thing that he conveyed at the end of the seminar was that he expressed his impressions when he visited the city of Banjarmasin.
“Banjarmasin is a beautiful city, the people here are very kind and the food is delicious” he closed.
