Saturday (28/10/2023), The Director of Banjarmasin State Polytechnic, Joni Riadi, officially opened the International Seminar on Vocational Education in Economics and Business Sciences 2023, with the theme “Leveraging AI for Succes in the Era of Industrial 5.0”. The event was held virtually and attended by hundreds of students from various universities on Thursday, 26 October 2023.
Opening the seminar, Joni Riadi delivered that the International Vocational Education Seminar in Economics and Business Sciences 2023 was dedicated to preparing students to face the challenges and opportunities of Industry 5.0.

“I hope that all participants will get a lot of information and insight from this seminar regarding the future of vocational education and its role in a world increasingly driven by AI technology,” Director of Poliban said.
The seminar featured several distinguished speakers, including Prof. Dr. Mira Kartiwi from National Islamic University, Malaysia and Mark Gabriel Wagan, Aguilera, M.BA, M.Sc. from Kaliyan Educational Foundation, Philippines.
Prof. Dr. Mira Kartiwi delivered an interesting presentation about Industry 5.0 and its implications for the world of education.

“It is very important to understand previous industrial revolutions and how technology was integrated into our lives,” she said.
Mira looked at the unique features of Industry 5.0, such as human collaboration with robots and the systems and she also emphasized the importance of adapting to changes in this technology.
Mira’s presentation was closed with several questions from students and continued with the second speaker, namely Mark Gabriel Wagan, Aguilera, M.BA, M.Sc from the Kaliyan Educational Foundation, Philippines.

Mark presented material regarding the importance of understanding AI for future leaders and decision makers in business and the economy. He also shared examples of AI systems used by businesses globally.
Why is AI crucially important in Economic and Business life? Mark explained the significance of AI is because AI is highly relevant and makes business more efficient and easier.
“AI has many benefits, including increasing customer satisfaction and reducing workload for businesses,” he said.
